MedHorizons is an open-access publisher. Because readers access all content for free, publishing costs are recovered through Article Processing Charges (APCs) paid upon acceptance. Submission is always free — you are only charged if your article is accepted.
APCs cover peer review coordination, copyediting, typesetting, DOI registration, long-term archiving, and indexing in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science.
APC Waivers
Authors from low- and middle-income countries (World Bank classification) are eligible for full or partial APC waivers. No manuscript will be rejected due to inability to pay.
To request a waiver, select "Waiver Request" during submission and provide your institutional affiliation. Decisions are made within 3 business days of acceptance.
Institutional Agreements
MedHorizons has read-and-publish agreements with over 400 institutions. Authors affiliated with a partner institution may have APCs covered in full or partially through their library.
Check with your institution's library or contact us to confirm whether a prepaid agreement covers your submission.
All fees are quoted in USD and are exclusive of applicable taxes. APCs are invoiced upon final acceptance. Payment is accepted by credit card, bank transfer, or through institutional purchase orders.
