MedHorizons was founded in 2014 with a simple belief: that scientific knowledge belongs to everyone. What began as three journals has grown into a global publishing platform serving more than 1.5 million researchers and clinicians every month.
MedHorizons launched with three flagship journals covering oncology, cardiology, and neurology. The founding editorial board comprised 42 researchers across 18 countries. The first issue published 12 peer-reviewed articles, all freely accessible from day one.
The portfolio expanded to 25 journals. Total published articles surpassed 10,000. MedHorizons introduced article-level metrics and altmetrics tracking, giving authors real-time visibility into the reach of their research.
We launched a structured peer review platform introducing transparent reviewer reports, optional reviewer acknowledgement, and post-publication peer commentary. Partnerships with 150 academic institutions were established.
MedHorizons integrated with major preprint servers, allowing authors to post preprints simultaneously with submission and automatically link accepted articles to their preprint records.
A landmark milestone: 100,000 published articles across 120 journals. Institutional partnerships grew to over 400 universities and research hospitals. MedHorizons was indexed in all major academic databases including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science.
More than 350,000 articles published across 180+ journals. Over 90,000 active researchers in our reviewer and author community. 1.5 million monthly readers across 190 countries. MedHorizons remains committed to the principles it was founded on: open, rigorous, and globally inclusive science.
